Meet Joel Pohjanpalo. He is a Finnish international who is a striker for Bayer Leverkusen. I saw him come on as a substitute in the 72nd minute in this weekend's game against Hamburg. All he did was score a hat trick [in 11 minutes], with two of those goals coming in stoppage time. The Finland international, who has returned to Leverkusen after two years on loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf, headed in Julian Brandt’s cross in the 79th minute to equalize. The 21-year-old then put Leverkusen ahead with a clinical finish in the 90th minute and struck again in stoppage time as they picked up their first points of the season.
Meet Joshua Kimmich. He's a 21-year old fullback for Bayern Munich. He's had a good run for the past week and a half. He scored his first-ever goal for the German national team [Die Mannschaft] in their 2018 World Cup qualifying match against Norway [Germany 3, Norway 0]. Then, as a second-half substitute for Bayern he scored his first-ever Bundesliga goal in Bayern's 2-0 win over FC Schalke. To top things off, he then scored two goals for Bayern as they crushed Rostov 5-0 in UEFA Champions League play. Watch out for this kid...
